Chopper Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Frequented California Coast
A chopper soaring over a popular coastal beach suddenly commenced twirling wildly, eventually losing altitude and crashing into a row of palm groves as spectators observed.
Videos shared online depict the aircraft beginning to twirl above the beach then falling near the perimeter of the coast, where it ends up lodged amidst palm groves and a staircase adjacent to the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Update
Local firefighters said five persons were transported to a medical facility including two who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the incident on the weekend.
Three people on the pavement were hurt. Specifics on their condition were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
