Battlefield 6 Gamers Concur: Missions Are Way Too Hard

The launch of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 received significant enthusiasm, especially for its top-tier multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, live player figures reached a high of nearly 750,000. Yet, in spite of its success, many players are expressing frustration over a portion of the release's toughest challenges, which are required to unlock specific weapons.

Players have started resorting to tailored sessions made via the Portal feature to achieve these objectives, underscoring just how arduous these assignments have become.

Grasping BF6 Objectives

Assignments are Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, in contrast to the frequently updated everyday and weekly missions. There are four categories of assignments, but while the majority merely grant outfits and select equipment, completing the weapon assignments is the only way of obtaining 12 of the 41 key firearms found within the game.

A number of these locked weapons could shortly earn a place on rosters of the best guns in Battlefield 6.

Player Outcry via Reddit

On Reddit, players are reasonably voicing their concerns about how hard and tedious a number of these challenges are. An individual player highlighted one of the most outrageous examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
  • Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs

"This challenge is so terrible and totally unreasonable, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a quote that summarizes just how excessively challenging these tasks are.

Suppression in Battlefield is more diminished than before in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.

At the same time, using an LMG from the hip is extremely unreliable and functions solely at point-blank proximity, which is seldom the location you want to be. That player also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that task would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and conversely.

Another Ridiculously Tough Mission

Another Reddit user highlighted an additional excessively hard challenge, this time in the sniper rifle category to unlock the PSR:

  • Achieve 150 headshot eliminations from more than 200 meters away with marksman guns

This is difficult enough as it is, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at those extended distances.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine maps in the game currently, it means you're limited to playing New Sobek City, another expansive area, and maybe a classic map at a push if you plan to engage from afar from a significant distance.

The Bypass

However, there is a solution: the custom game tool. The custom game creator is a feature that enables you to make custom game modes on any map you prefer, featuring computer-controlled players. This allows you can bypass the intended method… but it isn't truly in line with the intended gameplay experience.

However, when completing the missions in a standard match seems counterproductive, since you are forced to participate in such an unconventional way that doesn't benefit you or your team, who can fault a player for grinding them out in a private match so allies are not impaired?

Upcoming Tweaks

It is expected if some of these assignments are made easier in the next few updates, because should they remain unchanged, certain gamers simply are unlikely to obtain the locked firearms.

At the moment, the community continues to share their thoughts on these strenuous battlefield assignments, expecting a fairer overall gameplay in subsequent patches.
